neurogenetics

Müller, U. (Ed), Graeber, M. B. (Ed), Ptacek, L. J. (Ed)

Neurogenetics publishes findings that contribute to a better understanding of the genetic basis of normal and abnormal function of the nervous system. Neurogenetic disorders are the main focus of the journal. Neurogenetics therefore includes findings in humans and other organisms that help understand neurological disease mechanisms and publishes papers from many different fields such as biophysics, cell biology, human genetics, neuroanatomy, neurochemistry, neurology, neuropathology, neurosurgery and psychiatry. All papers submitted to Neurogenetics should be of sufficient immediate importance to justify urgent publication. They should present new scientific results. Data merely confirming previously published findings are not acceptable. Neurogenetics is published in hardcopy and online. It includes Review Articles, Original Articles, Short Communications and Letters to the Editors.

APA Neuroscience Journals & Books

The American Psychological Association has compiled a list of 398 neuroscience-related APA publications. Below is a sampling of the journals, books, and web pages in their list.

Psychology & Neuroscience (journal)

Psychology & Neuroscience publishes articles encompassing all intersection areas between psychology and neurosciences.

The journal is organized into five thematic sections:

Psychophysics and Perception Behavior/Systems/Cognition Plasticity and Neural Development Clinical and Experimental Neuropsychology Neuropsychopharmacology

Behavioral Neuroscience  (journal)

The primary mission of Behavioral Neuroscience® is to publish original research articles as well as reviews in the broad field of the neural bases of behavior.

We seek empirical papers reporting novel results that provide insight into the mechanisms by which nervous systems produce and are affected by behavior. Experimental subjects may include human and non-human animals and may address any phase of the lifespan, from early development to senescence.

Studies employing brain-imaging techniques in normal and pathological human populations are encouraged, as are studies using non-traditional species (including invertebrates) and employing comparative analyses. Studies using computational approaches to understand behavior and cognition are particularly encouraged.

In addition to behavior, it is expected that some aspect of nervous system function will be manipulated or observed, ranging across molecular, cellular, neuroanatomical, neuroendocrinological, neuropharmacological, and neurophysiological levels of analysis. Behavioral studies are welcome so long ...
